Live excited with DBS sailing at the bay and enjoy an experience like no other!

Come sail with us onboard our 2 fleets of boats in Marina Bay - the SB20, a 4 men crew boat, which is commonly used for racing, and the Swedish Match 40 (SM40) which reaching an impressive height of about 4 storeys, are brought into Asia for the very first time and are available to the public for free. SM40

Fun fact 1

The SM40 does not capsize! So don’t worry about falling into the water!

Our fleet of SM40s was previously used for racing at the America’s Cup – One of the most prestigious events in the sailing world!

The top speed for the SM40 is about 15knots which is equivalent to about 28km/h!

The SM40 is purely dependent on the wind and do not have any engines onboard.

About the SM40

The SM40s (known as Swedish Match 40) originated from Sweden and is brought into Asia for the very first time in July 2015. Typically only accessible to top professional sailors (due to high cost and logistics), the SM40s are made available to the public for free through the DBS Marina Bay Sailing Programme.

SB20

About the SB20

The SB20 was originally known as the Laser SB3. It is a keelboat and is designed for racing with a crew of 3 to 4 whose maximum weight must not exceed 270kg. This class of boat is one of the most commonly used for racing in Singapore.

  • Sailing sessions will be delayed or cancelled if there is:
    • Inclement weather, such as CAT 1 warning
    • Unhealthy haze with PSI level of >100
    • Unforeseen circumstances
  • The decision to cancel the session may take place at short notice, whether pre-departure or after the session has commenced and under such circumstances there might not be any communications sent out.
  • Communications on cancellation of sessions will be sent out to participants through the email address that they used to register on a best attempt and case by case basis
  • Attire: Comfortable/casual clothing
  • Footwear: Flats/sports shoes/covered shoes
  • Sun protection: Shades/caps/sunscreen
  • Lifevest will be provided and must be worn on board at all times.
  • Participants MUST be at least 7 years old and below 70 years old
  • Participants should possess basic water confidence.
  • Participants consent to DBS Bank Ltd (“DBS”) collecting and using their personal particulars (including but not limited to name and contact details) for purposes of the DBS Sailing At The Bay Programme.
